About

International Reasoning and Aptitude Olympiad

The SilverZone Reasoning and Aptitude exam is designed to help students assess their reasoning and aptitude skills. This exam is an annual event that evaluates students' abilities in various areas such as analytical reasoning, logical reasoning, numerical aptitude, spatial reasoning, and verbal reasoning.

The exam is based on the curriculum provided by CBSE, ICSE, and State Boards. Apart from the curriculum, the iRAO exam also includes applied reasoning questions that test students' problem-solving abilities. By taking this exam, students can discover their strengths and weaknesses in different reasoning and aptitude domains.

This Olympiad is crucial for students in every grade as it allows them to identify their true potential, assisting them in selecting a career path that is best suited to their abilities. By strengthening their positive attributes and working on their negative ones, students can achieve their full potential and reach their goals.

The iRAO exam is available to students in grades I through XII. It encourages students to develop their reasoning and aptitude abilities from an early age, which is critical for their future success. The exam helps students to hone their cognitive skills and become more confident in their abilities to solve problems.

The Olympiad

Level 1

All the students of classes 1st to 12th are eligible to take part in Level 1 (Only).

Examination

The Olympiad is organized in the respective schools of the participants during the school hours. The structure of the event (iOS) stands as the following:

There will be a different question paper for each class. All the questions are objective-type with no negative marking for wrong answers.

The question paper is class specific and usually consists of the following sections:

( Classes I-VIII)

(i) Section-1: Mental Ability Test

(ii) Section-2: Quantitative Aptitude

(iii) Section-3: Scholar’s Zone

( Classes IX-XII)

(i) Section-1: Mental Ability Test

(ii) Section-2: Qualitative Aptitude

(iii) Section-3: Quantitative Aptitude

(iv) Section-4: Scholar’s Zone

The medium of the test is English only.

The iRAO is conducted on two dates in the year 2023-24. Each school may select a date for conducting the Olympiad as per its convenience. Each date of the Olympiad has a separate set of question papers.

Registration of Students

The prospectus containing the Registration Forms of iRAO are sent to all the schools registered with the SilverZone Foundation. However, it might not have updated information which has been incorporated and updated later in this website regarding changes in syllabus, prizes and levels etc.

The schools which are NOT registered with the Foundation may also request for prospectus by sending an e-mail at info@silverzone.org

The schools must return the Registration Forms, properly filled in and complete in all respects, by the due date to the Foundation.

Principals/teachers may please note that any school can become a registered centre for the International Reasoning and Aptitute Olympiad (iRAO). No fee is required for the same. Only for feasibility reason, a minimum of 20 students need to be registered for the iRAO, from the school.

Any clarification regarding rules,format/pattern of the paper, etc., may be sought from the SILVERZONE FOUNDATION through email at info@silverzone.org.

Raw Score Calculation

The raw score is computed by multiplying each correct answer by its corresponding base marks and summing the results. In mathematical terms: Raw Score = SUM (correct answer × subsequent base Marks).

Total Marks Calculation

Total Marks are determined by adding the raw score to the sum of the weightage of correct answers. Each question carries an additional weightage, starting from .0001 and increasing incrementally (.0002, .0003, and so forth). For instance, Question No. 1 has a weightage of .0001, Question No. 2 has .0002, and so on. This weightage is utilized to resolve ties when calculating Class/Zonal/Olympiads ranks.

Olympiad Rank

This encompasses all students from India and abroad belonging to the same class.

Class Rank

This encompasses all students from various sections/divisions of the same class within the same school.
